In DRP, Bills of Distribution (BOD) utilise the concept of Bill of Materials (BOM) in MRP. BOD links supplying and satellite warehouses together. These warehouses play an important role in DRP because of being responsible for the storage and movement of distribution material as and when required by the organization. The supplying warehouse is referred as a parent warehouse and satellite warehouses are referred as components. BOD helps in the transfer of material from components to parents. This structure is often referred as ‘inverted BOM’.
